Hunter Liggett (b. March 21, 1857, Reading, Pa.-d. Dec. 30, 1935, San Francisco, Calif.), U.S. Army officer, graduated from West Point in 1879, and for the next twenty years served in various infantry assignments, including in the Montana and Dakota Territories. He later served in Cuba and in the Philippines. After graduating from the Army War College, he was first appointed director, then president of the College (1913).
